Packaging re-design with profit
Engineered Materials, Inc. (EMI), INTERCEPT´s official partner in the U.S., redesigned a packaging procedure for one of their clients who was experiencing inconsistent results providing protection for their products during delivery.
The pictures show the end product after EMI was able to maximize pack density for precision gears for automotive and heavy earth moving equipment that, thanks to INTERCEPT Technology™, the manufacturer is now able to layer their parts with Corrosion INTERCEPT® sheets and then stack and wrap. INTERCEPT helps Indian manufacturers
India is the third largest Asian economy. Its engineering skills with frugal resources and innovation is leading its auto and engineering component makers to overflowing order books. The country has become one of the hubs for the auto majors for design and manufacture of small cars.
Many of India´s auto companies such as Tata, Mahindra, Bharat Forge, and TVS are exporting large volumes and varieties to Europe and the USA. The export projection for 2015 made by the component industry is 15 billion USD. Read more...

Shipping / Export using Quick Pack System
Shipment of weaving machines
Shipment via sea-freight for approximately 4-6 weeks to Turkey. Further 2-8 weeks shipment and
storage within Turkey.
VCI packaging wrapping over metal components, then packed in wood crate. Extensive corrosion
seen throughout shipments. Corroded metal edges, severe rust staining on rear housings. Also
consistent ingress of water throughout resulting in serious mould + mildew issues. Variety of vermin
often populating bottom of crates, leading to damage cause by feces/urine.
Revised Packaging Solution:
Machinery wrapped with 6 mil Static Intercept then loaded into crates with desiccant packs.
Elimination of corrosion issues following initial 6 month program. Customer reports 54% savings of
packaging costs due to reuse over multiple shipments. Also, no more mildew issues reported.
Product rejection rates reduced to zero.
Protection of Automotive
components and systems in a
variety of applications
Trying to combat corrosion has traditionally been a tough
and messy job. Outdated methods call for the application of
light oils, greases, Cosmoline or other protective coatings to
safeguard metal products against rust and tarnish while in
storage or during shipping.
